Music - Time is Running Out - Muse
Alright, well to begin with, GUESS WHO’S BACK ON THE VINEBLOG CIRCUIT!?
Oh…Â I remember the days well…
Alright, to begin with Drama has all up been pretty good for the first five weeks of the term. Initially starting with skits of the twelve dramatic elements with meant that we had a thorough understanding of them and, as Cashy told us, would help us for our solos that are coming up and for the rest of our dramatic future.
Jac and I struggled a lot at the beginning of our small skits, we had no idea what to do but when we ended up getting an idea and doing it, it went really well and included all the dramatic elements.
After the skits we were given our solo criteria. Yay! I can’t wait…
Anyhoo…
We are to play ONE character (that’s going to bug me a lot. My best parts from my solo last year were my transformations from one character to another. Anyway, I am a drama student and I can work with whatever) from a particular ’sub-culture.’
Alright, so IÂ am planning to do a metal head - which may be a little hard.
Most metal heads seem to include a lot of drugs, sex and alcohol (am i allowed to mention these things on here?) so I had to find a different angle that didn’t include any of those.
I think I have managed to find one, I just have to talk to Cashy about some things.
I also have to include the use of tension, timing and symbol and two other dramatic elements throughtout the five minute solo. We will see how it all goes…
As a class, and with the year 12 class, we saw a university play called Destin last Monday. It was really really good, and included so much that we will be able to write about in our Sac on Tuesday. There was a lot of symbolic implimentations and symbols throughout and the use of stagecraft and dramatic elements and expressive skills was really brilliant.
Anyway,
I’m annoyed and buggered. Working takes a lot out of mee…
Oh man, I was serving a lady some Coles Ham today… and nearly laughed in her face cause I thought of Epic theatre and Brecht… (that and I told a lady to have a good night, when it was like 2 or 3 in the afternoon, tell i was out of it much?)
Cheers, Heather

Well, you could say Brecht was a bit of a ‘ham’.
A non-naturalistic deli. I like it!
